2024 WEEK 5 Runners of the Week

There was a lot of action this week so I upped the number of runners of the week. Seven is a lot for one week and the selection was difficult. It could have been easily been 10 to 12 selections. I did give a nod in some cases to athletes who race two races over those who ran one.

MATT SANTANA (Riverbank)--was the fastest StanCo male at Woodbridge. He placed 2nd in the Senior Boys White Division in a time of 15:36.8 to lead the Bruins to 2nd place.

 

GISELLE FERNANDEZ (Riverbank)--won the VG White Div B at Woodbridge in a time of 17:27.8 over the 3mi course.

CESAR BORJORQUEZ (Downey)--placed 4th at CCAL 1 in a time of 16:43.6 which was an improvement of 54 second on that 5K course. Additionally he ran 15:36.9 to place 44th in the VB Gold B race at Woodbridge.

JACOB CAVANAUGH (Oakdale)--at VOL 1 he ran 16:57.9 to place 5th and help with the team win. At Frogtown he was 3rd in 16:35.5 again assisting in the team victory

PARKER WHITEMYER (Oakdale)--placed 4th at VOL 1 in 16:51.9 to help Oakdale to the win. At Frogtown he was 2nd in 16:29 to lead to Mustangs to another team win

ZOE LEACH (Downey)--won CCAL 1 by over 40 secs in 18:51. At Woodbridge she placed 4th in the VG Gold B race in 17:28.4.

 

ADDISON WYLIE (Oakdale)--she placed 4th at VOL 1 in a time of 20:25 over the 3 mile course and helping Oakdale take the "W."  At Frogtown she was 4th in 20:19 again leading the Lady Mustangs to the victory

SOME OF THE OTHERS THAT I CONSIDERED

AVA CALANDRO (Oakdale)--was 7th at VOL 1 in 21:02 but came up big at Frogtown to place 12th  (as the Mustang's 2nd finisher) in 21:16 and help the team to the win.

AVERY CARLSON (Pitman)--placed 2nd at CCAL 1 in 19:40 and then was 2nd in the LS race at Frogtown in 20:39.

TEDDY SANTOS (Turlock)--won CCAL 1 in 16:35 which was an 11 sec PR over that course and led the Bulldogs to the team win.

 

COLVIN HAMEL (Pitman)--placed 3rd at CCAL 1 in 16:39.8 which was a 1:04 PR on that course. He the placed 3rd in the LS div at Frogtown in 16:57.9 leading the Pride to the team win.

CHARLOTTE TOOZE (Gregori)--placed 7th at CCAL 1 in a time of 20:58 which was an improvement of 1:42 on that course

AUBREY WEBB (Turlock)--placed 6th and ran 20:42 at CCAL 1 which was an improvement of 39 seconds on that course and helped the Lady Bulldogs take the win.

GABRIEL PENWELL (Enochs)--improved by 35 seconds in CCAL 1 to place 8th in 16:57.9

PAUL CASSAGIO (Downey)--placed 13th at CCAL 1 in 17:18 wich was a 38 sec improvement. Then at Woodbridge he placed 100th in 16:03.2
