WEEK 5 2018 XC (TVL 2; SAL 2; CAP CROSS; STANFORD)

The season is about 1/2 way done. Yes it does go quickly. I am sure your coach would remind you that is why those summer miles are so important. This week begins the second round of those gritty league cluster meets with TVL and SAL.

WED 9/26 TVL 2 @ Legion Park, Modesto
Competing StanCo teams were Hughson and Riverbank.Some incredible parity in the VB race with 4 teams within 10 pts of eachother. With Hughson Boys taking their second win they have virtually locked up at least a share of the title. Ditto for the Husky Ladies who owe their win over Livingston to Frosh Taylor Scheuber's effort.

BEYER @ MTN HOUSE
This couse covered 2.8 miles over the most barren patch of dirt in the valley. Oh and there was a ridiculously steep hill that they climbed three times. Beyer won both varsity races.

SAT 9/29 STANFORD
Competing StanCo schools were Modesto and Downey. It wasn't but two years ago this was considered THE meet in Northern California. It provided a circus-like atmosphere and very strong competition. Many teams would come from out of State to do battle. Last year they didn't hold the meet. Now I believe that many elite teams have opted to go to Pacific Tiger or Capital Cross (or both) instead. No doubt this is still a top meet though as the times and results indicate. All races were 5K

Competing StanCo schools were Turlock, Big Valley Christian, Turlock Christian, and Gregori. As you can read above, this meet has become one of the premier meets in Northern California.There were both "seeded" and "unseeded" varsity races. I have combined the results fro better comparison. I have also included the totla team times. This will provide some comparison between the two teams and with the teams who ran at Stanford and the courses are reasonable equivalent.
