THUR 8/31 JAGUAR INVITATIONAL, Eagal Lake, Tracy
Competing StanCo teams were Waterford, Ceres, Orestimba, and Grace Davis. Other teams were slated to run at this meet, but I think they may have been scared off by the predicted heat. However the temp never even reach 100 while I was there. All runners ran 2.1 miles

FRI 9/1 KIM DUYST INV, River Oaks Golf Course, Ceres
Competing StanCo teams were Downey, Riverbank, Turlock, Johansen, and Pitman. In the first running of this meet all males were combined and all females were combined. The combination of TVL, MMC, and CCC teams almost never happens, but it does give me a benchmark point of comparison for the rest of the season. The distance was 4K for everyone.

The competing StanCo team was Hughson. The races were 4K
Hughson ladies won this meet last season, so they were looking to defend their title, which they did. However what looks obvious in the results to me is that there is a huge gap between their #4 and #5 runners. That gap will need to be closed to have a return trip to the State Meet.

SAT 9/2 THUNDER 2 mi, Buhach HS, Atwater
The only competing StanCo team was Central Valley. A quick glance over the full girls' results tells me that Atwater will be a force this year in the CCC. If Turlock really wants to challenge for the league title they will have to get past the very young Falcons. As the title says, everyone ran 2 mi. In the WAC I think CV my be poised to take the title this year.

SAT 9/2 LAGOON VALLEY, 2mi, Lagoon Valley Park, Vacaville
Most of the top Sac-Joaquin Sec teams competed Saturday at Lagoon Valley. I guess like many recent meets they were fearful of the heat and cut the varsity races back to only 2 miles. This is a mostly flatish course with two monster hills throw in just to break up the monotony. The only local team to participate in this meet in the past several years has been Downey. This years all the StanCo teams ran elsewhere. The top local team can peruse the results and get an idea who the top section teams will be this year.
