Mid-Season Rankings

Well the preseason rankings pretty much missed the mark...so why not try it again halfway through the season (that was rhetorical, I am sure there are many reasons, but I am mostly ignoring them).

Here is my disclaimer...if you make the list don't let it go to your head. If you didn't make the list please use it as inspiration to work harder and run faster. I just watched ranked USC lose to unranked Washington in college football. So the moral of the story is that these ranking get you nothing. There is no substitute for hard work and long miles.

Ladies First..

Bernal and Ruvalcaba

1. Kim Ruvalcaba (Riverbank) won TVL 1 and 2
2. Arielle Names (Downey) won MMC 1 (sick for MMC 2)
3. Savannah Mendoza (Modesto) won MMC 2

Aguayo, Morales, Mendoza, H Perez

4. Esmeralda Aguayo (Downey) 2nd MMC 2
5. Stephanie Bernal (Riverbank) 2nd TVL 1
6. Clarissa Morales (Enochs) 3rd MMC 2
7. Hilda Perez (Modesto) 3rd MMC 1

Others to watch:
Kinsey Langley and Abigayle Mitchell (Hughson); Ade Fredeen and Maria Varela (Turlock); Kristen Aguilar (Oakdale); Haylee Osgood and Kaitlyn Krieger (Downey); Torry Maravilla (Gregori)

VG TEAM
1. Modesto: they won MMC 1 and 2. They are very thin but have an amazing top five runners
2. Downey: trying to catch up to MoHi's fast start this season. They are the deepest team in the county but have struggled to match MoHi's up front running.
3. Riverbank/Hughson; yes it is a bit of a cop-out here. RBK is thin. They easily won TVL 1, but Hughson is getting better fast and took it to the Bruins at TVL 2. Both teams could be section contenders in D4
5. Turlock; the Bulldogs are gaining some experience and momentum after a big win at CCC 2. They are still lacking the up front star runner(s).

Cardenas

1. Orlando Cardenas (Modesto) won MMC 1 and 2

Yanez

2. Daniel Yanez (Hughson) won TVL 1 and 2  (I would love to see Daniel and Orlando race against eachother!
3. Inteus Schiavo (Downey) 2nd in MMC 1 and 2

5. Ruben Paradez (Riverbank) 2nd TVL 1 and 2
6. Santiago Ruiz (Gregori) 3rd MMC 1

Bosquez

8. David Bosquez (Turlock) 9th CCC 1
9. Josue Perez (Modesto) 6th MMC 1

Others to watch:
Jose Orendain and Alan Guerrero (Modesto); Eric Wise and Diego Ruiz (Riverbank); Justin Crescenti (Oakdale); Carson Boice (Hughson) 

VB TEAM
1. Modesto: won MMC 1 and 2 and is talented and very deep
2. Riverbank: won TVL 1 and 2; a very thin squad but talented and experienced
3. Downey: 2nd in MMC 1 and 2; seems that the younger runners are progressing rapidly
4. Turlock; They have a lot of descent runners but need help up front
5. Gregori/Hughson: both teams began the season with higher expectations (by me anyway) and are struggling to find some footing. Injuries and illness have played major roles in holding up progress.
