Some random thoughts...wow did Jymena Nguyen get screwed in that incredibly tough D2 race! She ran 40 seconds faster than last year when she qualified for State. Her time of 19:19 was the 22nd best time on the day (#13 all time for StanCo) and she dosen't make it to State?!? Definitely a victim of the system.
The Oakdale girls had perhaps their worst race of the season. I thought they were a lock to grab one of the top three spots and therefore qualify for State. I guess that is why they actually have to run the race. ...obviously what do I know anyway?
BIG WINNERS? The CC boys I thought would be edged out by Summerville. Beyer boys I also thought would just miss the "Big Dance," especially with some ongoing illness issues. Pitman's Avery Carlson might be the biggest surprise. She struggled through the middle of the season with some health (?) issues. She lost to both Zoe Leach and Elle Williams at the CCAL Champs. Then drops a 19:03 (#6 all time mark) to qualify for State?!? I am happy for all of them. Go back a reread the end of the previous statement.

ReplyDeleteI'm talking about the amazing mid season rankings where you put Turlock 3rd. But, I would've put them below Grace Davis to be honest, cause Turlock's not that good.
