2022 WEEK 12 Divisional Section Meets

This is such an exciting time of the year with so many athletes vying for a spot in next week's Section Masters meet at Davis HS, Davis. The wind was no joke for much of the week especially at the D3, D4, D5 meets at Weston Ranch (perhaps the windiest location in the lower SJS). So as you are comparing times between divisions take into account the the D1 and D2 meets likely had calmer wind conditions.

The Masters meet is Fri and Saturday (5/19 and 5/20) at Davis Senior HS, Davis

D1 MEET (Tue 5/10 and Thur 5/12) at Oakridge HS
There were no StanCo teams in this meet, but I am providing times as a point of comparison. The top 8 from this meet qualify for Masters, and you will notice that the times were smoking fast.

6. Ryan Elias (Beyer) 10:14.88

There is a story with this race: Nate Olsen (Beyer) finished the race in 9:54.68 which would have made him 5th overall and the champion for D4. Also Grace Davis' Diego Cardenas ran 10:37.43. After the race ended they were both disqualified for stepping on the line on the inside of the curve during the race. It was the first time I have ever seen this rule applied (without warning) in a distance race.

After much conversation it appeared that Livingston's Daniel Lucatero will be vacating his spot so that he can attend his prom which would move up Beyer's Ryan Elias.

  1. Daniel did vacate but was not allowed as no alternates so Beyer still out last I heard. Also Adin Dibble no longer in results so might have been DQed too.
