Current Rankings

There was a recent article on Cross Country Express showing SJS mid-season rankings. A few of the StanCo teams made the cut and were noted in the rankings:

In D1 Modesto Boys were ranked #6. This isn't surprising considering the strength of the team and their placing in the SJS meet the past few years of around 5th or 6th. I am predicting that they could nudge up to around 4th by the final meet.

In the D4 boys Riverbank came in at #2 and Hughson at #3. Hughson has been playing catch up all season, and I am not sure they have enough fire-power to over take the Bruins by SJS meet time.

Surprisingly Waterford is ranked #6 in a very weak SJS D5 pool

For the girls in D4 it is a reversal of the boys with #3 Hughson nosing out #4 Riverbank. The Huskies are coming on strong as some of the younger and less experience members get more races under their belts. RBK is a team in search of a solid #5 runner.

I believe that the Downey and Modesto girls each have the potential to be around 5th/6th at SJS in their respective divisions, but everything would have to unfold just right for them.

Here is a LINK to the full rankings as posted on Cross Country Express.

Speaking of rankings...I am going to take one more shot at StanCo rankings prior to Championship week (next week).
My disclaimer...making or not making these rankings shouldn't be the high or the low point of your season. I am merely trying to quantify and recognize those athletes and teams that are currently excelling. If you didn't make the list perhaps it will spur you on to work a bit harder and strive for that new PR.
