Riverbank was the only StanCo team. THEY WON! Their front four were rock solid as always. The usually reliable Sabrina Garcia suffered through an off race. Fortunately, as a team, they slipped past Amador to take the title.

Marc Alania |
Modesto High was the only StanCo team. They ran perhaps their best and most complete team race of the season to place 6th in the section--pretty awesome for the second place MMC team. As he has all season, Marc Alania led the way. With State Meet aspirations, Marc went out too fast and suffered over the second half of the race. He still managed a very respectable 23rd place.

Gregori, the MMC champ, was the lone StanCo team in this division. They began the year with the goal of qualifying for State. Although they finished at sections in a solid pack, their up front running just wasn't fast enough to compete with the "big boys." Their 9th place team finish is very respectable in the ultra-tough D2.

Nathan Stanton |
There were no StanCo teams competing. The only individual StanCo entrant was Nathan Stanton (Patterson). Nathan ran just behind the leaders most of the race. He ultimately finished in 4th place to earn a trip to the State meet

D4 Section champion Zach Morrett |
This division was stocked with StanCo runners. Both Riverbank and Hughson had their sites set on a State Meet berth, but so did Christian Brothers and Dixon. With only two spots available, it meant that two very good teams would be left with nothing but disappointment. After the first mile it appeared to me that both Hughson and Riverbank were not only trailing Christian Bros and Dixon but also Sonora...there was much work to be done. Both teams began moving up as runners for the other teams, that probably went out too fast, fell back. At the same time, Zack Morrett made a strong move to pass the leader, Steven Grolle (Sonora); and he would never look back. Over the final stages it was the Bruins of Riverbank that emerged victorious--taking home another D4 banner. Hughson came up short of their State meet goal with their third place finish.

D5 Boys
Big Valley Christian was the lone StanCo team. They finished in 8th place. The top StanCo finisher was Jeremy Hart (BVC) who placed 7th and grabbed one of the individual qualifying spots for the State Meet.
