MMC Championship and All-Time Legion List

Last Friday the schools of the MMC met for the final time this season to determine team champions and individual all-league teams.

Mendoza, Torres, Maravilla

For the Varsity Girls up front it was much as it has been in the other 3 cluster meets. Mya Torres (Gregori) and Savannah Mendoza (Modesto) ran shoulder to shoulder for most of the race with Savannah eventually beating Mya for the fist time. On the team front it was Gregori putting four runners in the top seven to easily take the victory. (Gregori 34; Modesto 54; Downey 67; Enochs 89; Beyer 154; Davis 173; Johansen 182)

Alania leads the herd of boys about 900m into the race

For the Varsity Boys it was also similar up front. Marc Alania (Modesto took the lead from the gun and held it to the finish. Several different Gregori runners were on his shoulder at various times during the race. However it was Mario Medina (Gregori) who coolly work through the pack and pust Alania to the finish line. In the team competition it was Gregori with another strong showing, putting 9 runners in the top 13 to easily outdistance Modesto. (Gregori 25; Modesto 32; Enochs 93; Downey 121; Beyer 154; Johansen 185; Davis 192)
