Riverbank, Hughson, and Gregori competed Saturday in Folsom at the Willow Hills Relays. I am still looking for results for the Gregori runners although I was told that the boys placed second (ahead of Roseville, Riverbank and Hughson) and behind host Del Campo. I believe that the Gregori girls placed 3rd (probably behind Del Campo and Riverbank.)
On to what I do know...
This is the early season preview of the section championship course for very serious teams. It is an extremely challenging 5K course which necessitates the ability to change your stride due the constant up and down nature of the terrain.
For the boys:
Zach Morrett (Hughson) 17:10 (only 12 sec slower than he finished the season last year)
Adrian Salazar (Riverbank) 17:21 (28 sec faster than sections last year)
Luis Figueroa (Riverbank) 17:22 (2 sec faster than sections last year)
Jonathen Beliera (Riverbank) 17:44 (26 sec faster than sections last year)
Ian Brooks (Hughson) 18:06
Brigham Lee (Hughson) 18:37
Austin Zehr (Hughson) 18:57
It certainly appears that Riverbank's up front runners are in late season form. It also appears that Hughson has some work to do if they are going to challenge RBK for the TVL title.
For the girls:
Mikayla Florez (Riverbank) 19:58
Joslyn Beliera (Riverbank) 22:34
Haley Richardson (Riverbank) 22:34
Sabrina Garcia (Riverbank) 23:03
Kim Ruvalcaba (Riverbank) 23:03
Madison Mays (Hughson) 23:17
Florez is the only female to break 20 min, further establishing herself as one of the section's elite runners.
The course is slightly different than the one used for sections, a little shorter. This explains the fast times.
ReplyDeleteRiverbank didn't run any relay teams, that is why all of their runners are showing up in the individual slots. Lodi was 4th in the boys race, not Riverbank.
You are right about RBK being in great shape and us having a lot of work to do.
