2024 XC State and Nor-Cal Recognition

One of the rarities for StanCo runners is to receive recognition as a member of an All-State or Nor-Cal team. In the case of the 2024 season there were six runners who earned one or both of these distinctions.

NOR-CAL RECOGNITION is voted on by mostly "Bay Area" coaches and definitely slants that direction. I have been told that the State Meet results is the primary qualifier, but I have also seen were Sac Joaquin kids beat others at State and then those results were down-played. This year there are a couple of spots that went our way. The STATE RECOGNITION goes 100% off of the State meet results. The "1st Team" is comprised of the top seven, the "2nd Team" is made up of the next seven...Well any recognition is good for what I'll call the forgotten sport. Congratulations to the runners who earned this extra notoriety.
GISELLE FERNANDEZ (Riverbank)--was named to the second team All Nor-CAL and the D4 1st Team All State based on her 4th place finish in the D4 division at State. She was the 55th best female finisher and was the 10th Nor-Cal finisher.
NATALIE ARRIAZA (Patterson)--was named 3rd team All Nor-Cal and D2 3rd Team. For the No-Cal team especially they look beyond her sub-par effort at State to her stellar season since she was not in the top 21 for Nor-Cal at State.  She ran 18:14 to place 21st in D2 and 90th overall and was the 25th finisher for Nor-Cal.
PARKER WHITEMYER (Oakdale)--was named Honorable Mention Nor-Cal and D3 3rd Team for the State. He ran 15:36 to place 17th in D3 and 93rd overall.
ISMAEL DOMINGUEZ (Oakdale)--was also named Honorable Mention Nor-Cal and D3 3rd Team for the State. He ran 15:40 to place 20th in D3 and was 107th overall.
AVERY CARLSON (Pitman)--finished on a tear over the final 3 meets. She was named Honorable Mention Nor-Cal. At State she was 43rd in D1 in 18:24 to place 121st overall.
ELLISON WILLIAMS (Turlock)--was named to the all Nor-Cal Frosh team. She ran 18:55 at State to place 65th in D1 and 22oth overall.
