2022 XC WEEK 0a/b Runners of the Week and Schedule

 

As I have for the past 6 years, this year I will be naming "Runners of the Week" each week. Although some StanCo teams have run twice and most have yet to run at all, this will be the first selection week (based on the previous two weeks of competition.

DAX DALEY (Oakdale)--won the Jaguar Invitational. It was a close race between Dax and his teammates, but it was Dax who (barely) crossed the line first. It was a 2 mi race instead of a 5K due to the anticipated extreme heat. Never the less Dax ran in the lead and in control the whole way. I believe he even held back in order to urge his team mates on.

MACI DAY (Pitman)-- She won the Screamin Scott Showdown (scrimmage with Atwater) in 19:33 for 3mi and placed 2nd at the Seawolf Inv, covering the 5K Woodward Park course in 19:35 and leading the Lady Pride to the team win.

OTHERS I CONSIDERED

JOE LIGHTHALL (Hughson)--won the Hughson Black and Gold 2mi intrasquad in 10:22

BEHNIYA ESMAELABADI (Turlock)--placed 3rd at the Dave Zacharias Inv. His time for 3mi was 17:30

JACOB CAVANAUGH (Oakdale)--stepped up big to place 6th at the Jaguar Inv finishing the 2mi in 10:50 and giving the Mustang 4 runners in the top 6

SHAYLAN ROY WILLIAMS (Turlock)--placed 3rd at the Dave Zacharias Inv. Her time for 3mi was 21:51

JULIA ZENSIUS (Central Catholic)--placed 5th in the VG race at the Jaguar Inv covering the 2 mi in 13:30

RYAN ELIAS (Beyer)--won the Enochs at Beyer 2mi scrimmage in 10:54

YELENA ORDONEZ (Beyer)--won the Enochs at Beyer 2mi scrimmage in 14:00

DIEGO CISNEROS (Pitman)--Placed 2nd in the Screamin Scott Showdown running 17:09 for 3mi. Placed 14th in the Seawolf Inv running 18:19 for 5K

LEXIE GOMEZ (Gregori)--placed 3rdin the 2mi in 12:47 at the Pleasant Grove Eagle run

ISMAEL DOMINGUEZ (Gregori)--placed 3rd in the 2mi in 10:45 at the Pleasant Grove Eagle run

UP COMING SCHEDULE

WED 9/7 TVL 1 at River Bluff, Ceres--(the meet will likely be run in the morning to avoid the extreme heat). Competing StanCo teams are Riverbank and Hughson

THUR 9/8 SAL 1 at Diablo Grande--(this meet has been moved to the morning to avoid the extreme heat. Competing StanCo teams are Orestimba, Waterford, and Denair. 

SAT 9/10 LOWELL INV at Golden Gate Park, SF--The competing StanCo team is Gregori.

SAT 9/10 JOSH RUFF INV at Willow Hills, Folsom--the competing StanCo teams are Central Catholic, Oakdale, Big Valley, Modesto

SAT 9/10  KIM DUYST at River Oaks, Ceres--the competing StanCo teams are Downey, Beyer, Central Valley, Enochs, Grace Davis, Hughson, Johansen, Modesto, Orestimba, Patterson, Riverbank, Turlock, Vanguard, Waterford
