2019 WEEK 6 Runners of the Week

It was a busy week with many impressive performances. Given all of that, I chose to double up on ROW selections. In analyzing results from CCAL 2, I figured that that short flat course was 1 min faster for the ladies and 45 seconds for the guys when compared to CCAL 1 at Legion. Those are the comparison numbers I used for most of the comments and choices below.

CHLOE COOK (Gregori). She placed 3rd at CCAL 2 in 18:39. She improved 1:50 between CCAL 1 and 2. As a Frosh she helped lead the Jags to the win. Her 18:39 time was just barely outside of the top-ten all-time finishes over this course. I think we still don't know just how good she can/will be.

  ALYSSA CASTILLO (Downey) She placed 10th at CCAL 2 in a time of 20:16. She improved an incredible 3:30 and 30 places between CCAL 1 and 2

JASON SCHLENKER (Modesto) He placed 4th at CCAL 2 in a time of 16:10. He improved 1:07 between CCAL 1 and 2. Last year he was 12th in F/S at CCAL 2. This year he was 4th in the varsity race.

JAVIER PRADO (Enochs) He placed 9th at CCAL 2 in a time of 16:20. He improved 1:04 between CCAL 1 and 2. Looking further back he improved 1:24 and 18 places between CCAL 2 last year and this year over the same course 


OTHERS WHO HAD GREAT WEEKS
NOHELI RON (Modesto)--she placed 5th at CCAL 2 in a time of 19:32 which was a 1:45 improvement.
LEXI GOMEZ (Gregori)--placed 6th at CCAL 2 in a time of 19:52 helping to lead the Jags to the win. Her time was a 1:40 improvement
CHRISTIAN BALDERAS (Pitman)--placed 7th in the Lg School race at del Oro in a time of 16:33. Also he won CCAL 2 in a time of 15:31

DAMIAN GARCIA (Pitman)--helped lead the Pride to the win at CCAL 2 placing 3rd in a time of 16:06 which was a 1 min improvement.
ETHAN ROBINSON (Pitman)--placed 11th at CCAL 2 in a time of 16:28 which was a 1:08 improvement.
ZAC BLOOD (Pitman)--placed 13th at CCAL 2 in a time of 16:36 which was a 1:07 improvement.
ELIZETTE YSAIS (Hughson)--placed 10th at Crystal Springs in a time of 20:01
SILVANO MORA (Hughson)--placed 34th at Crystal Springs in a time of 17:05
ADA JACK (Patterson)--placed 5th at CCC 2 in a time of 19:35
DANIEL LOPEZ (Big Valley Christian)--placed 6th in the small school race at Del Oro in 17:09
JONATHAN STALEY (Waterford) placed 50th in the Sm School division at the Clovis Inv in a PR time of 17:11
