2019 GIRLS Preseason All StanCo XC Team

For the past five years I have attempted to select an All StanCo Girls Team. I have not had the greatest track record making these selections. Last year I only picked 6 of the 10 correctly. For the past five years I am running at 30/50 for the girls. The two biggest factors making the girl's list difficult to predict are INJURIES and NEWCOMERS. Unlike the for the boys, virtually every year there is a Frosh girl that makes the team. I can't predict someone I don't know yet. Then like the boys an injury can change the whole outlook of the season. More than with boys sometimes very good girls have just opted out of the sport too. Even with all of those unpredictable variables I will still give this a shot. But first my disclaimer:

Making this list gets you nothing. If it inspires you then GREAT! But don't rest on these laurels. If you didn't make the list maybe that will inspire you too. Listen to your coach and work hard. There is no substitute for putting in long, quality miles with your team. The only awards that count come at the end of the season. Best of luck to everyone whether I mentioned your name or not.

Six girls return from last year's team. they automatically make the list.
