2019 TRACK WEEK 14--State Championships

Friday 5/24 and Saturday 5/25 were the dates of the CIF State Championships. If you have never been to this meet and seen the number of individuals necessary to run such and event, the Buchanan HS stadium, and the level of the competition....well it is all something to behold. It is billed as the top HS track meet in the country. I certainly have no reason to doubt such a claim.

On Friday preliminary competition was held in all events (except the 3200m). The top 9 athletes in most running events moved onto the finals. The top twelve 800m, 1600m, and field event athletes qualified for the next day.

The only two competing StanCo Distance athletes were Briseida Garcia Meza (Gregori) in the 800m and Madison Kackley (Gregori) in the 1600m and 3200m.
