WEEK 3 TRACK 2018 (F/S Showcase; Dublin Distance Fiesta; Jaguar Invitational)

This has been a bi-polar week of weather. Most dual meets were rained out on Wednesday due to muddy tracks. The F/S Showcase had mostly dry but windy conditions. Saturday's meets experienced cool and variable conditions. Uncharacteristically I didn't make it to any of the meets. Wednesday I had Open House at my own school. Friday night I was able to attend the GS Warriors' game, so Saturday i needed a day to take care of things at home. Rain or shine I will be at County Clash on Friday at Oakdale. That will be the athletes from StanCo competing against those from both Merced and San Joaquin Counties.

Billed as the largest distance only track meet in California, there were 101 different teams represented who brought 2300 individual athletes. The competition was solid but the sitting around all day and long into the evening in chilly conditions, must have been excruciating.

Distance-wise much of this meet consists of relays instead of individual events. Although the 1600m was listed on the event schedule, it is not in the results. Participating StanCo teams were Pitman, Turlock, Johansen, Orestimba, Enochs, Turlock Christian, Central Catholic.
