This is a meet that is still maturing and being accepted as a legit scheduling point of focus. Some smaller schools are still attending the woefully organized Brenda meet. A couple of others are traveling up to compete in the Bronco Round Up. I contend that the County Clash would offer the high level of competition that everyone is looking for--if everyone would just buy into it. I am looking forward to seeing it grow into a true championship grudge match between the two counties.
With all that said, there were some fine mark achieved in probably some less than perfect conditions.

RESULTS
Agreed. There is plenty of competition if everyone in Merced and Stanislaus county send their top dogs. I would love to see a "1 heat of everything, elite meet in the evening with an "everyone else who didn't qualify for the night meet" meet during the day.
ReplyDeleteThe conditions weren't actually that bad. The rain didn't start falling until the last heats of the 4x4. It was very windy at times (especially at the beginning of the running events: 4x1, 1600, 110HH) but the wind calmed down by the 800s and was pretty light during the 3200, although it was still blowing.
