Stanislaus County Meet

Girls 800m
Mikayla Florez (Riverbank) took the lead at the gun and simply dominated. I am sure that she was shooting for sub 2:20 but faded some down the stretch.

1. Mikayla Florez (Riverbank) 2:22.20
2. Heavyn Herroz (Hughson) 2:34.32
3. Abigayle Mitchell (Hughson) 2:36.80
4. Serena Anderson (Pitman) 2:37.69
5. Cassandra Derdivanis (Turlock) 2:37.90

Boys 800m
In the Boys' 800m Ian Brooks (Hughson) led most of the second lap but a hard charging Aaron Mayfield (Pitman) came from over 20m back to snatch victory at the line

1. Aaron Mayfield (Pitman) 2:00.06
2. Ian Brooks (Hughson) 2:00.62
3. Tomas Rocha (Ceres) 2:04.63
4. Isaiah Aguilar (Oakdale) 2:05.08
5. Isaac Gonzalez (Pitman) 2:05.94

Girls 1600m
Makenzie Salyer (Turlock) went out really fast on a wave of adrenaline that lasted about 600m. From that point it was Kim Ruvalcaba's (Riverbank) race. Once in the lead Kim looked quick and strong taking the victory.

1. Kim Ruvalcaba (Riverbank) 5:36.33
2. Lauren Stanislaw (Beyer) 5:39.39
3. Savannah Mendoza (Modesto) 5:40.02
4. Makenzie Salyer (Turlock) 5:50.48
5. Mackenzie Hassett (Pitman) 5:54.90

Boys 1600m
It was still somewhat breezy during this race. A big pack walked through a very pedestrian first lap before Zach Morrett (Hughson) took the pace. He paid the price of blocking the wind as Isaac Gonzalez (Pitman) took the lead on the last lap and Morrett faded badly.

1. Isaac Gonzalez (Pitman) 4:40.86
2. Isaiah Aguilar (Oakdale) 4:42.20
3. Marc Alania (Modesto) 4:45.18
4. MIchael Keith (Enochs) 4:46.53
5. Zach Morrett (Hughson) 4:46.76

Girls 3200m
Guadalupe Ventura (Patterson) out-dueled the most experienced runner at the meet, Lauren Stanislaw (Beyer) to take the win.

1. Guadalupe Ventura (Patterson) 12:27.80
2. Lauren Stanislaw (Beyer) 12:32
3. Makenzie Salyer (Turlock) 12:51.26
4. Anna Perrone (Oakdale) 13:04.78
5. Sonia Perez (Modesto) 13:12.07

Last Friday the top track athletes in StanCo competed for medals, titles, bragging rights, and 8 berths per event to the StanCo v Merced County Clash meet that will be held in two weeks.

Boys 3200m
Nathan Stanton (Patterson), Jonathen Beliera (Riverbank), and Isaiah Aguilar (Oakdale) ran neck and neck for 6+ laps before Stanton managed to open a small gap that he pushed to a victory. Two other things should be noted: 1. this was Isaiah Aguilar's third race of the night and 2. 15 runners broke 11:00 in this race.

1. Nathan Stanton (Patterson) 10:00.87
2. Jonathen Beliera (Riverbank) 10:09.71
3. Isaiah Aguilar (Oakdale) 10:09.71
