2026 South SJS Distance Track Highlights (CCAL Girls 2; TVL Duals; WAC Duals; CCAA 1; VOL Duals; Bob Pryor; MJC Inv; Stanford; Delta Mustang)

Many districts had this week off, some have next week. Never-the-less this week was heavy with league dual meet competition and some amazing marks.
 
Highlights for me this week:
Dominguez, Badea, Dittman

1. Four girls (Tyleah Badea, Anna Dittman, Roselynn Dominguez, and Jymena Nguyen Marquez) go sub 5:10 in the 1600m at MJC Inv.
2. Larson Wejmar (Turlock) goes 9:14.01 which lands him at #12 all time StanCo, #17 all time South SJS Distance
3. Hughson's Grace Benitez broke 5:30 for the first time in the 1600m
4. At a WAC tri-meet Beyer's Alex Mejia Hidalgo and Lathrop's Riley Gier go off in the 800 and both break 1:56. Alex 1:55.69 is #18 all time for StanCo. Alex also runs 4:20 in the 1600.
5. Anahi Ruiz Velasco (Beyer) runs 5:09.07 in the 1600m which is #24 all time for StanCo 
6. At a dual meet with Sierra, Patterson's Jaylyn Carrillo drops her 3200m time to 11:14.27 which is # 24 StanCo.
7. It was great to see Tyleah Badea back out competing although it was now in a blue Sierra uniform. She wasted no time PRing in the 1600 at 5:05.15 at MJC Inv, which is # 34 all time for South SJS Distance 
  
WED 4/1 CCAL GIRLS 2 @ Johansen HS, Modesto (hosted by Enochs)
The competing South SJS teams were Turlock, Pitman, Modesto, Downey, Enochs, and Gregori. This wa the Enochs meet but their throw areas are no ready yet so the venue was changed to Johansen.
