POST-League Meet Rankings

Most of the time ranking these runners is like comparing apples and oranges. Races are on different days over different courses. In the next couple of weeks some of that will change. Everyone will be running on the same course Saturday (Frogtown). However the conditions can change over the course of the day. Also some teams will definitely have to go all-out in order to qualify for Sections. Other teams will be able to have a more controlled effort and still qualify. So here I am trying to rate the individuals and the teams against each other. We will all see relatively soon just how accurate my selections really are. My disclaimer always is that a spot in this ranking earns you nothing and will never be a substitute for those pounding miles and long hours of practice. Best of luck to everyone at SubSections!

Other than within leagues there have been few head to head meetings. That few that have occurred I weigh heavily: Briseida Garcia beat Varela at Artichoke. Mitchell and Fife beat Prado at Hughson Supercross. Prado beat Varela at Jaguar Inv...we will all know more clearly after Saturday.

VG TEAMS
1. Hughson--a very solid top 5 gives them the potential to win Sections
2. Downey--easily won MMC. Status improves with Krieger's return to form
3. Turlock--2nd CCC but stock is improving with the return of Salsig
4. Oakdale--2nd VOL (the real question for me is will the youngsters run varsity of F/S at subs???)
5. Modesto--a distant 2nd in MMC
