Runners of Week 6 and Up-coming Races

RUNNERS OF WEEK 6

ARYANA PERILLO 11th (Modesto)--Aryana won MMC 2 in what I consider to be a spectacular upset victory. On Saturday she placed 45th and broke 20 min over the Stanford 5K circuit.

JOSUE PEREZ 11th (Modesto)--Josue placed a hard earned second place at MMC 2 (narrowly missing the victory. On Saturday at Stanford he placed a very respectable 16th covering the 5K course in 16:14.

Honorable Mentions:
Santiago Ruiz 11th (Gregori) won MMC 2 and won the D1/D2 Varsity section at Artichoke Inv; Mason Reeves 11th (Gregori) placed 3rd at MMC 2 and had the 7th fastest overall time at Artichoke; Esmeralda Aguayo 11th (Downey) placed 3rd at MMC 2 and was the fastest StanCo finisher at Stanford in 36th; Briseida Garcia 10th (Gregori) placed 2nd at MMC 2 and was the fastest StanCo finisher at Artichoke in 21st; Jaecelyn Romero 11th (Waterford) won SL 2;  Carlos Aguilar (Riverbank) placed 7th at TVL 2 in a huge PR; Emily Fife 10th (Hughson) won TVL 2; Elizette Ysais (Hughson) was 3rd at TVL 2; Carson Boice 12th (Hughson) placed 2nd at TVL 2; Tomas Virgen 12th (Patterson) won dual with Ceres to remain undefeated in WAC competition.


UPCOMING SCHEDULE OF RACES
Wed 10/5--VOL 2 at Legion Park, Modesto; StanCo teams competing are Central Catholic and Oakdale; What am I looking for? It is time to put up or shut up for the Oakdale boys. After some early season injuries and illness they need to run to their potential with out excuses.  The Oakdale girls barely missed the team title at VOL 1, can the youngsters rebound and get the victory?
 Wed 10/5--CCC 2 at Donnelly Park, Turlock 10AM; StanCo teams competing are Turlock and Pitman. What am I looking for? Will the injury ravaged Turlock ladies be able to hang on for the team title?
 Wed 10/5--Patterson at Central Valley Dual Meet at River Bluff Park, Ceres; Competing StanCo teams are Patterson and Central Valley; What am I looking for? The dual up front between CV's Rojas and Patterson's Virgen is interesting but the VB team race may be even closer.
Wed 10/5--Woodward Escalon Inv, Woodward Res, Escalon;  Competing StanCo teams are Hughson (nonVarsity), Denair, Waterford, Orestimba; What am I looking for? Good question...
Sat 10/8--Clovis Inv at Woodward Park, Fresno; Competing StanCo team is Hughson; What am I looking for? This may be the first real test for the Hughson boys and girls in a meet that many view as a tune-up for the State Meet. How will both fair against divisional rival Sonora?
