Girls Mid-Season Rankings

Before I start this list I will qualify it by saying that it is merely a slight recognition of those StanCo XC athletes who have began the season with superior effort which has produced some outstanding results. No placement on this list (or any other) is a substitute for hard work and continued dedication. This list carries no weight for winning a league title or a spot in the Section Championship.

We are about half way through the season. There have been some surprising results and some outstanding racing. I for one always look forward to the pending championship portion of the season.
Ruvalcaba and Garcia
As I said with the preseason rankings...wow is this an imprecise science. There is a lot of shuffling of individuals from race to race. Additionally many individuals never run head to head...as I said imprecise and probably not a science at all; but if you are interested, here is my list. I welcome comments. Debate is healthy.
Names and Mendoza
I'll start with the ladies...
1. Kim Ruvalcaba (Riverbank) won both TVL 1 and 2; 1st StanCo finisher at Artichoke
2. Arielle Names (Downey) won both MMC 1 and 2; 2nd Artichoke
3. Arianna Lara Chavez (Turlock) won CCC1; 4th Artichoke
4. Sabrina Garcia (Riverbank) 2nd TVL 2 and 3rd TVL 3
5. Savannah Mendoza (Modesto) 2nd MMC 1 and 2
6. Esmeralda Aguayo (Downey) 3rd MMC 2; 5th MMC 1; 3rd Artichoke
7. Madison Mays (Hughson) 5th TVL 2; 4th TVL 1
8. Erika Martinez (Downey) 4th MMC 1 and 2; 7th Artichoke
9. Haley Richardson (Riverbank) 6th TVL 2; 5th Artichoke
10. Ocean Goldman (Grace Davis) 5th MMC 2; 6th MMC 1
      Haylee Osgood (Downey) 6th MMC 2; 3rd MMC 1
     Makaelin Bickel (Downey) 7th MMC 2; 11th MMC 2; 5th Artichoke

Arianna Lara Chavez
Others having awesome seasons near the top of the pack
Haley Rodriguez Delaney (Enochs)
Megan Warwick (Modesto Christian)
Makenzie Salyer (Turlock)
Joslyn Beliera (Riverbank)
Anna Perrone (Oakdale)
Nicole Warwick (Modesto Christian)
Lupe Ventura (Patterson)

For the team rankings the results from this past weekend's Artichoke meet was a primary factor in the order.
1. Downey
2. Riverbank
3. Turlock
4. Modesto
5. Oakdale

I am still waffling on the Modesto/Turlock order...

1 comment:

  1. Downey is tearing it up this year. Nice for them to get recognized and nice that they are upsetting the order of the perennial top 5.
