ACTION DURING SPRING BREAK

BIG 8 CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP (MJC)
I don't usually cover college meets in this blog but I obviously made an exception for this meet. Two of MJCs participating distance runners turned in some pretty impressive results. They are both former StanCo HS runners and will be familiar names to those who follow my posts.

First of all Becky Hobby (Hughson, MJC) single handedly scored 34 of MJCs points. She won the 10K (40:04.00), the 5000m (18:42.11), and the 1500m (4:46.90). Additionally she placed 5th in the 800m (2:23.33). This impressive performance illustrates her durability, strength, and athleticism.

Dana Pollard (Beyer, MJC) placed 4th in the 3000m Steeplechase. Her time of 12:07.01 over barriers is noteworthy given that last year her PR for 3200m (without any barriers) was 13:19. I look forward to seeing Dana continuing to get stronger and faster.
