2026 XC South SJS Distance Week 5 (SAL 2; Golden Eagle; Mont. Bay; Truckee, Bellermine-Sacred Heart)

  Compared to last week this one will be pretty quiet.

FRI 9/25 GOLDEN EAGLE INV @ Woodward Park, Fresno
The competing South SJS teams were Oakdale, Denair, Central Valley, El Capitan, and Patterson. There were both Large and Small school varsity divisions. El Cal is a large school (D2) and should have competed in that division but for some reason ran in the small school races. Although the thermometer read about 90 it felt a lot warmer than that on the course and many runners were noticeably suffering. All races ran the same 5K course. The Oakdale boys were missing two of their top 5 guys.

    Some of those 5K Golden Eagle times seem slower than I’d expect. Was it really hot out there?

    yes I spoke to that at the top of the results. It may have been 90 but it felt significantly warmer and you could see that on the faces of the kids
