2023 WEEK 11 Subsections

There is only one week all year when all of the StanCo runners race on the same course on the same day. It is the only time they may be directly compared. That is exciting for me (I have a rather dull life). The drama for me came during the D4 race when my camera died...URGH. The shutter was locked closed. So for the remainder of the meet I attempted to snap shots using my phone. Well until the battery on my phone died. So the photos from this meet are not my best work.

 

Enough about that. Let me get on to the results, all races were 3mi over the hilly and infamous Frogtown course:

This race had an interesting twist. Ten teams and ten individuals qualified in each division. Modesto and Downey tied for the tenth spot. The tie breaker is who had the fastest 6th runner. However neither school had a 6th runner...so it seems that both school are going to qualify. Also for the first time ever the the entire CCAL competed in the D1 race. So out of the 11 qualifying teams 5 are from the CCAL.

The important thing to consider with the individual rankings in both VB and VG is that to make it onto the All StanCo ballot a runner must place in the top 15 for StanCo runners at either SubSections or Sections.
