2018 ALL STANCO TRACK TEAM

For the second year I have compiled an All StanCo Track team. This is a team made up of DISTANCE RUNNERS that competed in track. I am naming them based on meeting certain benchmark times in at least one of the three distance events (sub B 2:00/G 2:20 in the 800m; sub B 4:30/G 5:25 in the 1600m; and sub  B 10:00/ G 12:00 in the 3200m) OR qualifying for Section Masters. I have ordered the list somewhat by grade level.

*SANTIAGO RUIZ, 12TH (GREGORI)--the County champ in the 1600m and the MMC champ in the 3200m. He qualified for Section Masters in the 3200m. His best marks were 2:00.90 in the 800m, 4:25.29 in the 1600m, and 9:16.15 in the 3200m which is #8 on the all-time StanCo list.

*MASON REEVES, 12TH (GREGORI)--the MMC champ in the 1600m. He qualified for Section Masters in the 1600m and 3200m. His best times are 2:03.93 in the 800m, 4:23.92 in the 1600m, and 9:17.11 in the 3200m which is #9 on the all-time StanCo list

*ANTHONY VAZQUEZ, 12TH (CENTRAL CATHOLIC)--the County champ in the 800m and the VOL champ in the 800m. His best mark was a 1:59.48 in the 800m. He also ran 4:34.49 in the 1600m and 10:38 in the 3200m.

*ALONDRA HERNANDEZ, 12TH (RIVERBANK)--the County champ in the 800m and the TVL champ in the 1600m. Alondra has nursed injuries through most of HS. This season was no exception. She still PRed in the 800m--2:24.33 and the 1600m--5:12.87.

*ESMERALDA CAMPOS, 12TH (HUGHSON)--the TVL champ in the 3200m. Esme was truly the work-horse on the Hughson squad, often tripling in the dual meets. In spite of the work-load she still produced PR times this season. Her best marks were 2:30.98 (800m), 5:25.75 (1600m), and 11:37.31 (3200m). She qualified for Section Masters in the 3200m.

*BRISEIDA GARCIA, 11TH (GREGORI)--the County champ in the 1600m and the MMC champ in the 800m. Briseida missed much of the season with a broken foot, however she still managed to win the MMC 800 title in trainers. Her best marks were 2:15.44 (800m), 5:18.99 (1600m), and 11:33.88 (3200m).

*MAVLEEN MANN, 11TH (PITMAN)--the County champ in the 3200m and the CCC champ in both the 1600m and 3200m. Mavleen has improved in leaps and bounds this year. She now holds Pitman school records in all three distance events. Her 5:04.65 in the 1600m ranks #11 on the all-StanCo list. Additionally her 3200m time of 11:01.52 is #5 on the all-StanCo list. Her best 800m in 2:23.74. She qualified for Section Masters in the 1600m and 3200m.

*EMILY FIFE, 11TH (HUGHSON)--the TVL champ and D5 in the 800m. She qualified for Section Masters in the 800m and 1600m. Her best marks were 2:24.91 in the 800m and 5:11.12 in the 1600m

KAYDEN LEGAN, 10TH (OAKDALE)--the VOL and D3 champ and in the 3200m. She qualified for Section Masters in the 3200m. Her 1600m (5:18.11) and 3200m (11:14.98) times are equally impressive.

ELIZETTE YSAIS, 10TH (HUGHSON)--somewhat in the shadow of her Husky teammates, Elizette is a solid runner in her own right. Her best mark came in the 3200m--11:58.84. She also had times of 2:38.53 (800m) and 5:39.16 (1600m)

JAYSON MARTIN, 10th (PITMAN)-- Jayson's skills grew over the season. He bounced between running F/S races and running Varsity. He often tripled at CCC meets and was injured in the later stages of the season. He surprised everyone with a 1:59.85 at the D1 qualifying meet, shaving almost 5 seconds off of his previous best time. His other best marks were 4:40.17 in the 1600m and 10:48.02 in the 3200m.

MADISON KACKLEY, 9TH (GREGORI)--the MMC champ in the 1600m. Madison runs all out fearlessly from the gun. Although not very tactical, she makes it work. Her best mark is 5:03.78 in the 1600m. That time ranks her as #9 all-time on the StanCo list. She qualified for Section Masters in the 1600m.
