As part of my continuing effort to promote local distance running, I will be offering one $500 scholarship to a StanCo distance runner. Please see below for the requirements. Applications were emailed to all StanCo HS distance coaches. Additionally if you email me I will personally send you an application (screaminscott64@yahoo.com).
ELIGIBILITY: 1. Must currently be a senior at a Stanislaus
County HS.
2.
Must have competed in XC and track (primarily in a distance event) for a
Stanislaus County school all four years of HS.
3.
Must have a minimum of 3.0 cumulative GPA.
4.
Must be pursuing some sort of post-secondary education.
REQUIREMENTS:
1.
A fully completed, typed application
2.
A current transcript
3.
A typed letter of recommendation from your primary distance coach describing
your "leadership skills related to the XC and track teams"
4.
A typed essay of no more than 500 typed words describing "How distance running has positively
changed/influenced your life?"
5.
Submit all required components as hard copies or electronically as pdfs with
your full name in the file name (by 4/9/18)
